We just had to share our recent experience at the Barns of Freeling! As wedding photographers local to Adelaide, we’ve been to our fair share of wedding venues across South Australia, but we were absolutely blown away by the stunning sunflower fields at this rustic location.
The Barns of Freeling is a historic venue located in the picturesque countryside of South Australia. As soon as we arrived, we were immediately struck by the beauty of the surroundings. If you drive past you’ll know what we’re talking about! The rolling hills, the old stone barns, and of course, the incredible fields of sunflowers, made for the perfect backdrop for a wedding.
We were lucky enough to be photographing a wedding at the venue during the sunflower season, and we can honestly say that it was one of the most magical experiences we’ve had as photographers. The bright, golden petals of the sunflowers contrasted perfectly against the blue sky, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that was simply unforgettable.
What’s more, the Barns of Freeling offers a range of incredible spaces for the ceremony and reception. Couples can exchange vows in the sunflower fields themselves or in the historic stone barns, which have been lovingly restored to their former glory. The reception can also take place either inside the barns or outside, with plenty of space for dancing, dining, and celebrating.
As photographers, we also appreciate the little touches that the Barns of Freeling provides for their couples. There are plenty of opportunities for unique and memorable photos, with rustic vintage walls, and of course that gorgeous olden style windmill.
In short, we couldn’t recommend the Barns of Freeling enough for couples looking for a unique and unforgettable wedding experience. The sunflowers alone are worth the trip, but when you add in the stunning location, incredible spaces, and thoughtful touches, it truly is a one-of-a-kind venue.
