If you’re planning a sparkler exit at your wedding, some of these tips and preparations are essential to make sure everything goes to plan. We’ve been doing quite a few weddings with sparkler exits recently and we are very exited to share some of our thoughts and experiences on them. If you’re planning one for your big day, we think you’ll agree with us that this is one of the most exciting and memorable moments of the whole celebration!
Excitement of Sparkler Exits:
We know how important it is to capture every single moment of your wedding day, and sparkler exits are no exception. Whether you’re the bride, groom, or a guest, the sight of everyone lighting up the night with their sparklers is just breathtaking. It’s a moment of pure joy, surrounded by your nearest and dearest, and it’s the perfect way to end your wedding day on a high note.
Capturing the Magic:
As photographers, we love capturing sparkler exits because they’re always so unique and filled with energy. The light from the sparklers creates an almost otherworldly atmosphere, and we’re always so happy to be there to capture it all for you. We’ve got plenty of experience capturing these moments, and we’ve got all the gear we need to get great photos, even in low light conditions. It’s really important to check with your venue if they will permit having a sparkler exit. Also, make sure that your sparkler exit does not take place in a fire ban region. This is to prevent unwanted fires starting. This is so important especially in areas such as the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and even the Barossa where there is so much foliage and greenery.
Planning for a Successful Sparkler Exit:
Now, we know that planning a sparkler exit can feel a little daunting.. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here are a few tips to help make sure everything runs smoothly:
- Timing: Make sure to plan your sparkler exit for after sunset, that way the sparklers will be the most visible. Generally we suggest that your sparkler exit takes place as you leave your Reception. What a spectacular and memorable way to depart your wedding!
- Safety: This is the most important part! Make sure everyone knows the rules, and that you follow all the necessary safety guidelines. When it’s time to dispose of the sparklers, make sure they’re fully extinguished and placed in a safe place away from anything flammable.
- Sparkler Length: Choose sparklers that are long enough for everyone to hold comfortably. At least 70cm or even 90cm in length is essential.
- Light it up: Make sure your wedding venue is well-lit so everyone can see what they’re doing. Our suggestion is to have 4 fire lighters at the start of each line and at the end of each line. Once one sparkler is lit, use this lit sparkler to light other sparklers around you. Using the sparkler to light others rather than the lighter is by far the most effective way to have all of the sparklers lit quickly and alight at the same time.
Let’s Make Some Magic Together!
